Because CCCS is a thriving community of faith, the work of faith formation is an essential, primary factor in all school matters. Through our faith formation program, we develop young minds and teach our young people to love, to work for justice, to speak for the common good and to seek holiness above all else. We engage in the formation of the human person from within as we strive to bring young people to know the living God as a real presence in their lives.
Faith formation permeates all aspects of the school. While there is formal instruction in the faith daily in religion classes, components of the faith are taught across all curricular areas. Even extra-curricular activities are vehicles for the enhancement of the faith lives of students.
All students attend a schoolwide Mass weekly and gather for a weekly convocation to pray and reflect together. On first Friday’s, students gather for exposition, benediction and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Students are also given the opportunity throughout the school year to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation, especially during the Advent and Lenten seasons.
