Each family at Corpus Christi Catholic School has agreed to either pay $500 with no service hours required or pay $250 and contribute 15 service hours during the school year. Single parents are required to pay $250 and work 10 service hours during the school year. These funds can be included in the monthly FACTS Tuition payment and are non-refundable.
Service hours can be earned in many ways: volunteering to be a homeroom mother, chairing a committee, working on a committee, driving/chaperoning on field trips, being a library helper, being an art helper, working in the lunchroom, etc. A parent can also earn hours through parish-sanctioned activities. These activities must have prior approval from the principal. Because volunteering serves as a way of building a strong, supportive community, service hours done for specifically parish activities are limited to 5 hours per year. If questions arise about service hours, parents should contact the PTC Chairperson.
All service hours must be completed by May 31, 2016. Provisions will be made for volunteering at end-of-year events if parent(s) notifies the school of the upcoming planned service. Delinquent service hours will be assessed $50 per hour. Once payment is received, any records that were withheld will be sent out. If service hours have not been completed and payment has not been received, all records (including report cards) will be withheld and registration for the following year will be considered invalid.
Service hours that fall outside of the ordinary operation of the school require approval from the principal.
With the approval of the principal, grandparents are permitted to earn service hours for a family only if the parents in the family are totally unable to meet the requirements due to handicap, illness or other reasons deemed legitimate by the principal.
Service hours must be registered with the secretary of the PTC. The school check-in system does not record service hours.
